Convention Update:

Florida SuperCon 2008

Many apologies to those that were looking forward to seeing Dragonmun Studios are Florida SuperCon this year. Some unexpected and problematic things have presented themselves and are interfering with the ability to be at the show.

We are still planning on doing a number of shows throughout the state, so we will be back in the area a couple more times this year. Worry not!

YasumiCon

Dragonmun Studios will be attending YasumiCon for the first time this year! Be sure to keep an eyes out for us in the Artist Alley amongst other things. More information will be posts as it become available.

Previous Events

Heather's convention story for "AnimeFest" 2008 has been posted and can be found here (this is a Florida Library mini-event and is not to be confused with any events in texas).

This event also marked the beginning of a small anime and comic art exhibit also being presented at the Southwest Regional branch in Pembroke Pines. This exhibit features some of that artwork Heather Scott and will be on display for the entire month of May.

The Contest

Wednesday marked the two month mark for the Art on Sivoa contest. Entries are still being accepted and more prizes are being sought. For more information please see the official page locate at http://sivoa.dragonmun.com/contest.php.

Futurefocus

posted by Dragonmun on 12 Mar 2008

Wow, there is a lot to talk about, but so little allowance to do so. Rather than focus on the inability to talk about ~secret~ stuff, however, we'll focus on the all the awesome new information that we unveiled at MegaCon.

Sivoa - The Webcomic?

Some of you may have noticed the increased height of activity going on with Sivoa since we have begun posting up new pages on a weekly basis. The decision behind this was to reach out and help out fans and friends in all the different states that our sporadic convention schedule may prevent us from seeing.

For those of you that have been collecting the single issues, worry not! We are still releasing the printed comics (which are significantly further along than the web comic).

Sivoa - The Contest?

Dragonmun Studios is one issue away from consolidating the Sivoa story into it's first graphic novel and to celebrate we figured that we would give the vast artistic community on the internet a chance to be a part of this!

We are holding an art contest to feature artworks inspired by Sivoa. All entries will be posted in a special gallery on the website, but only the top ten entries will be fully featured in the book itself.

More details to the contest can be found here.

Call For Samurai Mushroom Stuff!

We here are Dragonmun Studios have sadly decided close the Samurai Mushroom web comic project on a permanent basis. In a very large part this is because we no longer can access the web account that everything is stored on, but also because we feel that it should finally be put into book form.

Because of various moves and reformats, some of the really  weird extra content that we have posted with the comic at one time or another has disappeared. We are having an open call for this missing content and are willing to offer small rewards for those that provide it.

To see the stuff that we do have, click here. Please send all emails regarding this to Heather.

Happy New Year and Librar-ations!

posted by Dragonmun on 04 Jan 2008

Although a little belated, We here at Dragonmun Studios wish you all a happy new year!

We've lots of great stuff planned for this year and to kick it off we're heading down to Librar-ations II for some fund-raising charity fun!

Librar-ations is sponsored by the Broward County Library and thus is located in the counties Main Library... which is awesome! Ever dream of having an anime convention take over those quiet places where you read your manga. Yeah. This is totally what that is.

Can't wait to see you guys there!

Kicking Off November

posted by Dragonmun on 07 Nov 2007

Another month for NaNoWriMo has kicked off and we're full into the winter convention season. JaniCon happened this last weekend and we're trying to get the media together for the website. Unfortunatly this is going to take a while, but we do have a con story ready and waiting to be read.

Our next show is going to be Anime SuperCon 2 in December and we look foreward to seeing you there!

JaniCon Surprise and a Thank You

posted by Dragonmun on 06 Oct 2007

The submissions and holding for ad space for this next print run of Sivoa is closed and payment (if you haven't already sent it in) is past due.

I just wanted to say thank you guys for your support. This run should be ready by JaniCon, which has been one adventure after another for me (even though the con itself hasn't actually started yet.)

As it turns out I'll be adding another event to my panels and costumed things there... and that's the rave.

I know, me going to the rave isn't a big deal, but that's not what I'm talking about. This time I'm actually DJing the thing.
O_O

I's got me terrified and excited all at the same time. I feel like I did when I was confronted with a roller coaster the first time.

I can't friggin wait.

Photos for Anime Festival Orlando 2007 are up and ready for viewing! Those can be found here. Dragonmun's convention story for the event is also up and can be found by clicking on this link.

On a different note, Dragonmun needs to beef up her comic portfolio thing by including more depictions of people interacting... somehow.

Because she's looking for suggestions and plans on using these things for her portfolio, these interaction commissions will be discounted to two characters for the price of one!

Prices for commissions can be found here: [link]

To request a commission you may either use the form located there, or send an email to heather@dragonmun.com.

Site Updates, PresaCon, and Florida Supercon

posted by Dragonmun on 27 Jun 2007

In case it hasn't been noticed, a gallery has been made for PersaCon and can be found here. The gallery for Florida Supercon is still being organized, but should be up within the week.

The convention reviews have been changed to be "convention stories" as  they are more opinionated than reviews ought to be. These have been sorted into the "Convention Information" section of the staff links. By doing this, we allow for all of the staffers to express their thoughts on the shows that they attend.

The entertainment section of the website has been updated to include another online community that Dragonmun Studios had helped to build. This would be the V.I.L.E Headquarters online community dedicated to Carmen Sandiego. If you have not already done so, check it out! There's a lot of neat nostalgia there.

JACON 2007

posted by Dragonmun on 09 May 2007

Dragonmun Studios is still on the recovery from the wildly fun time they had at JACON, but we were able to get the photo gallery started. Many thanks to all of you who stopped by the table and shot the breeze with us about everything from the comics to the latest cosplay trends. We had a blast!

Volume 4 of Sivoa sold out completely and we appologize to those of you who were unable to pick up your copy at the convention. If you would like to order your copy online, you may do so in the "Comics" section of the website.

Anime SuperCon Follow Up

posted by Dragonmun on 17 Apr 2007

We're back from Anime Supercon and man, we had a blast! Details can be found here in Dragonmun's convention review and photo gallery of people that stopped by the table. :D

Stupid Printers...

posted by Dragonmun on 12 Apr 2007

So it looks like the new issue won't be out for Anime SuperCon after all. There was a problem with the printers and the comics weren't able to arrive on time. They'll probably arrive like a week later though. Once they do come in I'll create an online store link so that you guys can order it.

Once again, thank you all for your patience.

It's Convention Season Again...

posted by Dragonmun on 06 Mar 2007

... and Dragonmun Studios has been in full swing with it!Our appearance at MegaCon didn't go unnoticed even though our location was a bit obscure. Many of your recognized the Flag and Caribbean Blue (although she's not our character) costumes as Heather and our affiliate Stephanie wandered around the dealer's room floor. That was awesome!

On the comic front, Sivoa: Book of Alecto volume 4 is nearing completion and should be ready for sale by the time Anime SuperCon  comes around.

We are also working on a super-secret project for JaniCon, which will be revealed when we get the affirmative to talk about it.

Art at MegaCon! Awesome!

posted by Dragonmun on 28 Jan 2007

So in the process of meeting and greeting old friends as well as making some new ones at FX, we managed to secure a table at MegaCon!

With out greatest heartfelt thanks, we will be sharing a booth with Exotic Lenses, whom of which has supplied all of the special effects contact lenses that we wear.

On a related note, the release of Sivoa: Book of Alecto issue four is being pushed back to a later date (not exactly sure when, but definitely by JACON) because we want to ensure the quality of the pages.

There will however be a special preview of the comic at MegaCon, so be sure to stop on by!

EMS Review and some photos.

posted by Dragonmun on 10 Dec 2006

The Convention review for East Meets South is up and can be found here. I also managed to upload the photos that I took into the gallery, but I still have a whole CD of photos taken by the convention photographer that I need to find.

When I do find that, I will post the pictures (with credit to the photographer) in the gallery as well.
^_^

Coming Home From East Meets South.

posted by Dragonmun on 06 Dec 2006

Dragonmun Studios has been home from East Meets South for acouple of days now, but unforseen events that took place while we were gone had made updating the website in a timely fashion a bit akward.

Starting tomorrow night things will be on their way with a convention review and an update about site happenings. Samurai Mushroom will be posted late Friday night.

For those of you that ordered commissions, they have been started and initiall sketches shall be emailed out soon for review.

50% Off Commissions! (11/26 - 12/2)

posted by Dragonmun on 25 Nov 2006

In the spirit of the season (that being the post-turkey shopping season of annual insanity), Dragonmun Studios is offering 50% off all commissions for the week following Black Friday.

From November 26th to December 2nd art can may be ordered from the Commissions Page for half the cost that is listed there. This art sale, however, is only applicable to commissions and not available for prints, comics, or merchandise.

This is a great opportunity if you want personalized Christmas cards , business cards, or ceramic ornaments, so jump on it while you still can!

AS: A Slight Delay...

posted by Dragonmun on 08 Nov 2006

Unfortunatly there's going to be a slight delay in getting the Anime South pictures online. Somewhere durring the halloween photography for Madge Elaine's macros were set on the camera and all of the photos taken over the weekend ended up fuzzy.

These are being tediously processed through photoshop, so hopefully we'll have something online soon. The review for the convention is complete however, and can be read here.

We've also got some Christmas fun in the works, but that'll be posted at a slightly later date. ^_~

Home from Destin.

posted by Dragonmun on 07 Nov 2006

We are glad to say that we're home from Anime South mostly intact, however we have cotracted the con plague (someone's cold) and have been in bed since we've returned.

We're better now tough, so photos and the convention review will be online later tonight.

On a sader note, Chibi-pa seems to be on permanent hiatus. The details of that are on their website.

Heading out.

posted by Dragonmun on 01 Nov 2006

Now that the Halloween season is over, Dragonmun Studios along with Central Florida Anime will be packing up and traveling to see our fans at Anime South!

Things online will pick up again shortly after that as news photos, reviews, and art are all on their way!

We can't wait to see you all there!

Captain Halloween Book Signings!

posted by Dragonmun on 17 Oct 2006

I want to thank all of you that made an appearance at the Captain Halloween book signings over this past weekend. Although I was not there to represent my artwork of the thing, Michael did an amazing job showcasing his awesome writing... and spiffy costume.

Markleting That Rocks has posted a nifty little review of Michael's appearance as well as some video of the signing. I seriously suggest that you guys check that out.

Note: Books can still be ordered online at captainhalloween.com.

24 Hours Comics

posted by Dragonmun on 10 Oct 2006

I think 24 hour comic day was one of the weirdest experiences that I've ever been through.

For starters, it doesn't feel like it happened at all. This weird time anomaly kicked in and made it feel like I walked into ACME comics, thought about drawing a comic, and then walked out. The only proof to myself that I did anything there is the comic that I churned out.

That can be found here. I was going to post Spazz's comic here as well, but I havn't gotten it from her to scan yet. X'D

I'll deffinitly do this again next year, but Hopefully I shall be better prepared for the insanity that is one comic page an hour.
