Prior to creating her cosplay entertainment troupe, Concept Galaxy, Stephanie was first and foremost known for her comic series “Oh, Captain!” and “Chaos in the Outer Region.” Like most American “Manga-Ka,” she created a boat load of fan art that helped her to establish a loyal fan base online.

“Chaos in the Outer Region” re-released!
Steph : February 18, 2012 8:02 pm : CitOR Blog, Stephanie's Blog

What timing! I just got word from my good friend and publisher Heather Scott of Dragonmun Studios (www.dragonmun.com) that while she is at Megacon this weekend releasing a preview of the re-release of my comic “Chaos in the Outer Region” she just got an email alert on her phone that Indy Planet.com and Comics Monkey.com have all just updated their comics listing to include “Chaos in the Outer Region”.

You can get your copy online today at the links provided below here…

Woo hoo! I keep being told about them preparing an e-reader format for the comics as well which is supposed to be a very cheap alternative for anyone who wants to check out the comic and is on a budget. I don’t think that is ready yet but probably will be in a few weeks.
I can’t remember if I mentioned this here before or not..

I know I mentioned it *somehwere*.

I can’t remember if it was facebook, deviant art, or my dragonmun blog, but sales from the comic also helps support my cosplay acting troupe for conventions, Concept Galaxy by having things like the website (www.conceptgalaxy.com) start to pay for itself so it stops coming out of pocket. So if you like my art or you like my acting troupe, either way it all helps support so thank you to anyone who is willing to show the love and support by purchasing my comics from dragonmun.com or C.G. merchandise from ConceptGalaxy.com
I really appreciate it. <3
And now that that’s taken care of… I’m off to work on PHASE TWO of “THE PLAN”.

The Fool and The Magician
Steph : December 7, 2011 7:39 pm : Stephanie's Blog

I’ve been having a hard time thinking of what to put down in this blog without feeling uh… pretentious? I guess.. .? I have been kind of in this mind set lately to let the work speak for itself…  and talk less about making a comic.. and just do it.. but I finally have some progress to show so that’s why I’m updating. I’ve decided I’m going to post up some of the comic online for people to read over at my new deviantART account which you can find at the following link. http://stephaniechateau.deviantart.com/

But it will probably be… like.. the first chapter.. and I’m going to upload it in order.. and so far I have not been drawing the pages of the comic in order.. lol. Just doing whatever scenes in my head I feel like.. skipping back and forth and all around… so I have some sneak peaks but nothing I want to put on my new DA yet because it’s not all 1,2,3 in order yet.

I’m a little new to how inserting images and such in these journals work as well.I had 3 samples but one of them is not uploading saying the file is too big or something even though I saved all the files the same after editing the text in photoshop. ugh. confusing.

Anyway, I hope for those of you actually reading this  you enjoy the two sample pages I did manage to figure out how to upload so far. heh. I guess let me know what you think here or add me on to your watch list on deviantART and message me there if you want to stay updated on comic progress. This is all I’m posting publically for now.

I got hired to make some artwork for an iphone app. project so there will be a slight delay on my comic progress until that’s done. I’m super excited about the project but unfortunately I had to sign an NDA so I can’t even show or talk about the drawings I’m doing for it even though I really want to. It shouldn’t take toooo long to get that stuff done though so I should be back soon enough with more comic progress soon.

Until then.. uhm.. I wish you well.. and may all of your wildest dreams come true!

Introducing: “Tales of the Outer Region”
Steph : April 8, 2011 4:50 am : Stephanie's Blog

Hello, and THANKS to anyone checking out my new journal here at my friend Heather’s publishing palace Dragonmun Studios. he he he. I’m going to use this blog to try to make little updates about the progress of any artistic projects I’m working on that would go to print. (via Dragonmun obviously)

If you’ve known me for awhile you know I used to make two different comics. The first one I made was “Chaos in the Outer Region”.  A story about an immortal boy wizard named J’hon who is curious as to why he is immortal when everyone else on the planet he grew up on ages and passes on, leaving him feeling alone and afraid to make new friends he would just lose again in time. After ceaseless searching for some sort of answer J’hon finds a spell he can cast that would take him to the “Outer Region” of the multiverse where other immortals and (supposedly) even the most concentrated source of Chaos and Creation, the two forces that are responsible for everything that exists, reside.

The second comic I did was “Oh, Captain!” and it was a pirate adventure type story starring a woman of questionable sanity named Captain Caribbean Blue. Blue kidnaps the Kingdom of Picadilly’s royal scribe Simon in hopes that he will help her translate a map she aquired that she believes will lead her to the location of seven legendary relics, supposedly hidden throughout their world, Fadhada by gods that once visited the planet long ago. The Prince of Piccadily and the Scribe’s adopted daughter join Blue and her crew on their quest once they realize that Blue’s intentions are actually good. She wants the relics in her hands before the infamous and dreaded mass murderering Captain Red Death gets ahold of them as part of a scary political plot that could create a world war.

As I started getting more involved in other endeavours such as helping run my production troupe Concept Galaxy, and work projects my desire to make comics sort of fell to the wayside. Recently though, I’ve been writing alot again lately because I’ve been having a lot of weird dreams I’ve been recording… many of them missing pieces of the story of the boy J’hon that popped into my imagination when I was 8 years old and has floated in and out of my thoughts randomly ever since.  In these more recent dreams my mind sort of pieced together everything in a way that surprised me and comletely reinspired me because the “Oh, If I get back into doing a comic again which one should I work on?” predicament was no longer a predicament.

Now I know exactly how to tell the story of my dreams in a way that isn’t all choppy and actually makes sense.  Pretty much anyone willing to follow will be able to. I also came up with the name of the new comic that will combine the two old comics and it’s going to be called “Tales of the Outer Region”.  Without giving too much away… basically, the myths, legends, historical texts, and stories passed down over time in the world of Fadhada (the planet which the original “Oh, Captain!” comic took place) are of great interest to the royal scribe of Picadilly Simon. Many of the texts speak of immortal beings or gods from the edges of space that visited Fadhada and other small planets hosting life long ago to hide from an entity called Chaos during a dark time.

The stories of these gods may not just be stories though as Simon, Captain Blue and her crew will discover as they seek out the seven relics that supposedly once belonged to the original seven gods of Creation named Aurora, Destiny, Fate, Death, Holiday, Eternity, and Almighty.  J’hon will be an integral part of the story as well, although his part in everything will probably not become very obvious till the very end.

Anyway, enough going on about it so I can get to work actually making it. It will probably be a pretty slow process since I’m also working on C.G. show stuff for Persacon and Realmscon right now and me and C.J. and the gang have filming stuff to do this week coming up for the lolfilmworks portion of stuff for this years shows… buuuutt..

It WILL happen. Oh yes. It will happen.

In the meantime I found the first “Chaos in the Outer Region” graphic novel on CD I had prepared for Kinko’s back in the day when I first published the comic and was still distrubting it which I mailed to Heather earlier this week soooo…. should only be a matter of time before she gets it and puts it up online for purchase like she already has with the old “Oh, Captain!” comic. Also, I uploaded a bunch of old gift/fan art I saved in the “Oh, Captain!” section as well and I hope when we get all the “Chaos in the Outer Region” stuff up I can get something similar up there. I’ll update the actual art galleries bit by bit as I make new art… so I guess just keep checking back! We’ll update little by little as time and our schedules allow. :)
