Dragonmun Studios will be present at MegaCon this weekend!
I have an artist alley table located in “Burgundy 6B,” which might mean almost nothing without a map… so here’s a map!
This year I’m changing up my normal convention routine of hosting panels and selling comics/art to… just selling comics/art. I will have all of the available chapters of Sivoa for sale in addition to limited copies of May Contain Science and Oh, Captain! I will also be previewing Chaos in the Outer Region at this show as well!
I will also be experimenting with a portable print shop setup, which means that I will be able to offer a wider variety of small to medium sized prints than have been available in years past.
GenkiGoth Studios, our affiliated artists helping us out with Blink will be there as well, so be sure to swing by the show an pay us all a visit!

While not exactly true, Art Student Owl pretty much sums up how I get about my large scale projects; on one hand, I’ll be to exited to share it with the world and on the other I fret that it’ll be a wasted effort and wonder what I’m doing with my life.
After talking it out, I’ve come to the conclusion that all artists experience this on some level.
Yesterday, this hit me hard with my new project. I think that’s because this is my first time working such a large team of awesome artists. They’ve been so supportive of the idea, that I really want to make it worth their effort.
Thanks to IndieGoGo – a project fundraising service – I was able to create a campaign to hopefully get the necessary funds to compensate them for their work. If you have not checked this out already, please do. The campaign can be found by clicking on this link.
Even if you’re not able to contribute to the effort financially, please help spread the word. The more people that know about it the better. If you’d prefer, you can direct them to the the projects portal site located at theressomethinginyoureye.com.
Thank you so much for your support everyone! It really means a lot to me.

I have to admit that this was a strange convention for me in the sense that I had pretty much no idea what was going on with it. This is because the artist alley at this show had it’s own room. It’s not that we weren’t busy, but when you’re in the hallway, the convention kind of spells itself out for you. The stand-alone room for artists didn’t really have that effect.
We did however get to see a good many people and fall in love with their costumes. There were so many Christmas themed outfits that I just had to take pictures of them! Those (along with some others I just thought were neat) are below:
*Please forgive my crappy camera. The regular camera had crapped out on me. :(

Christmas totally snuck up on me this year. It seems like only yesterday I was trying to find a Halloween costume for Ivy, when suddenly! Christmas music! Now I see houses buried alive in tiny lights and I think that there was a turkey in the mix somewhere…
Where did the time go?
Between taking care of the baby, completing a new comic script, and freelance work, who knows. I’m just glad that I have a weekend of singular festivities coming up in the form of Holiday Matsuri!
In a step away from the normal, I will not be bringing my laptop with me to the convention. This means that I will not be able to provide digital illustration commissions at the show, but for these next two weeks (12/12 – 12/26), I will honor my convention rates for such things!
Additionally, if you would like to order a traditional drawing online for pick-up at the show, I would be more than happy to arrange that for you. Just shoot me an email through the contact form located here.

Some of my more politically active friends turned me onto this link, which explains that the US Government is looking to pass a bill that will allow them to shut down sites that post/stream/cover pre-existing copyrights.
While I’m all for protection of copyright, I feel that this is simply allowing the government too much control of our lives. There are already systems in place for reporting and preventing copyright infringement on the internet through the DCMA that seems to work pretty well.
I think my big problem with this motion is that I can’t figure out for the life of me what the government could do to monitor such behaviors that the general public couldn’t do better.
take the #Doomebringers group on DA for example. They spot copyright infringements and report it to the victims of such. Even if they are a little crass about it sometimes, They do an amazing job overall.
There’s also the fact that there doesn’t seem to be a qualifier for the severity of the copyright infringement. Feasibly they could nail you for embedding a friend’s YouTube video into your blog. Additionally, if they limit it to “main stream” things, then they’re not being fair in their copyright protection – which is equally just as bad.
It’s a lose/lose situation that honestly isn’t really needed. ![]()
Notes:
Although I can’t find either of the mentioned acts listed in on the Library of Congress site (yet), there are a number of legitimate businesses taking a stand against this…. sooo… maybe there is something to it.
